Footage of big gorilla bluefish slamming topwater plugs in super slow motion. These were big, super aggressive blues, and they put on a show when they attacked the surface plugs. I was lucky to be there with Eric Hoff and Bob McGinley. They cast perfectly and then kept most of the hooked fish from running into me. Hot lures were Roberts Rangers, Lex Lures, Ron Mucci, Big Ed pencil poppers. All plugs were equipped with single barbless hooks, to minimize injury to the bluefish and fishermen. Gator blues can bite a finger off, or shake around like a madman and bury a hook in your hand. It happens all the time when fishermen use multiple treble hooks when trying to unhook bluefish. This video contains insane fishing action with lots of angry topwater strikes shot in slow motion. Video shot and edited by Tom Lynch. Music:
